Time Does Not Stop

We are talking about the subjective urgency in times of the non-existence of the Other. Paradoxically, the Other does not exist and Time does not stop. These are times in which the word is hardly a scansion, so we are in a period very different from the Freudian one. At that time, as Jacques Lacan comments in his Seminar Freud’s Papers on Technique, it was the phenomenon of the irruption of the unconscious that determined the urgency: “So here we are presented with a question – what is the structure of this speech which is beyond discourse?
