Adriana Costa Santos, 24 ans, est originaire de Lisbonne. Elle a fait des études de sciences politiques – relations internationales – à Lisbonne et à Bologne.
Arrivée à Bruxelles il y a 3 ans, Adriana n’a plus quitté la Plateforme citoyenne qu’elle avait rejointe pour un mois de bénévolat au parc Maximilien. Elle rendait compte de son travail sur le terrain dans un quotidien portugais, pour augmenter l’impact de sa présence à Bruxelles. Elle a obtenu le prix du journalisme, catégorie droits humains 2016.
Co-présidente avec Mehdi Kassou, de la Plateforme citoyenne de soutien aux Réfugiés (BXLRefugees – 10.000 bénévoles actifs et 47.000 membres), elle coordonne l’hébergement (200.000 nuitées des réfugiés chez des citoyens, en hébergements collectifs et à la Porte d'Ulysse). Le 19 octobre, la Plateforme et ses 47000 citoyens, ont reçu au Sénat, pour leur contribution à la liberté d’expression, le prix de la Fondation Henri La Fontaine pour l’humanisme 2018.
Adriana suit parallèlement un Master en Anthropologie à l’ULB. (Downwards Social Mobility among the refugees est le thème de son mémoire).
Elle a préfacé avec M. Kassou, le livre Au-delà des frontières, de F. Gemenne et P. Verbeeren.

Having arrived in Brussels three years ago, Adriana Costa Santos has been consistently engaged with the Citizen Platform; she had initially joined as a volunteer for a month at Park Maximilian. She reported on her work in the field in a Portuguese daily newspaper, this increased the impact of her presence in Brussels. In 2016 she won a Journalism Award, in the category of Human Rights.
Co-chair with Mehdi Kassou of the Citizen Support Platform for Refugees (BXLRefugees – 10,000 active volunteers and 47,000 members), she coordinates the accommodation (200,000 nights for refugees at citizens' homes and in shared accommodation as well as the Porte d'Ulysse). On the 19th of October the Platform and its 47,000 citizens, for their contribution to freedom of expression, were honoured in the Senate with the Henri La Fontaine Foundation prize for Humanism, 2018.
Adriana is also studying in Anthropology at ULB. (Downwards Social Mobility among refugees is the theme of her dissertation).
She has co-authored with M. Kassou, the preface to the book Beyond Borders, by F. Gemenne and P. Verbeeren.
