FLASH-CARTELS – TOWARDS THE 2019 CONGRESS!

THE 2019 CONGRESS OF THE NLS

1-2 JUNE – TEL AVIV

¡Urgent!

__________________________________________

FLASH-CARTELS:

We invite you to create Flash-Cartels in preparation for the NLS Congress, ¡URGENT! These cartels can be made of both members and non-members of an NLS Society or Group.

Under a title related to the Congress theme, each cartellisant will work on his or her own specific question – in a haste that may bring about some surprises!

Flash-Cartels function almost in the same way as other cartels do, the only difference being with regard to time, since Flash-Cartels are limited by the date of the Congress (1-2 June). This shorter duration, as opposed to the 1 or 2 years for regular cartels, should foster elaboration that is under the influence of haste – urgency – which, as Lacan logically demonstrated, is determinant in precipitating the moment of concluding (cf. “Logical Time…”, Écrits ).

A Flash-Cartel is not a minute-cartel! The surplus-knowledge that is aimed for cannot be obtained instantaneously, and implies that 3 to 5 members – plus one (4+1 being “the right dose” for Lacan) – will form a cartel.

After declaring the cartel on the NLS website, the members will meet at their own rhythm, so that each cartellisant, enlightened by the cartel, has the necessary time to elaborate a bit of knowledge about the point or question he/she has chosen to work on.

The questions that we will work on in the cartels should be related to the themes that will be treated at the Congress in the parallel sessions:

The Themes of the Four Parallel Sessions:

  • Urgent Political Times
  • Haste and the Act
  • Urgency that Doesn't Stop
  • Urgency and Satisfaction
  • Trauma
  • Subjective Urgency
  • Urgent Cases
  • Urgency in Institutions
  •
  • Click here to learn more about the themes
  •

Please send your papers, in English or French, to the NLS Cartel Delegate, Frank Rollier: frollier@wanadoo.fr  before 15 April.

The Congress’ Scientific Committee will select some of these papers to be presented during the Congress.

6,500 characters, spaces included, is the maximum number of characters allowed, which corresponds to a ten-minute presentation.

Other texts coming from these Flash-Cartels might be published in the NLS Cartels Newsletter, 4 + one (3,000 characters max), or on the Congress Blog.

The aim is to place the cartel at the heart of the School.
