« La parole passe par le corps et, en retour, elle affecte le corps qui est son émetteur. De quelle façon, sous quelle forme, la parole affecte-t-elle ce corps qui est son émetteur ? Elle l’affecte sous la forme de phénomènes de résonances et d’échos. La résonance, l’écho de la parole dans le corps  sont le réel – le réel à la fois de ce que Freud a appelé « inconscient » et « pulsion ». En ce sens, l’inconscient et le corps parlant sont un seul et même réel. Je vais le redire pour que cette ponctuation essentielle ne nous échappe pas. Il y a équivalence entre inconscient et pulsion pour autant que ces deux termes ont une commune origine qui est l’effet de la parole dans le corps, les affects somatiques de la langue, de lalangue. »

“Speech goes via the body and, in return, it affects the body that emits it. In what way and in what form does speech affect the body that is its emitter? It affects it in the form of phenomena of resonance and echo. The resonance and echo of speech in the body are the real, both of what Freud called the 'unconscious' and the ‘drive’. In this sense, the unconscious and the speaking body are one and the same real. I’m going to say it again so that this essential punctuation doesn’t elude us. There is equivalence between the unconscious and the drive insofar as both terms have a common origin which is the effect of speech in the body, the somatic affects of language, of lalangue.”
