NLS Seminar – with Special Guest Gustavo Dessal

Our eminent colleague, Gustavo Dessal will be joining us for our final NLS Seminar of the year. In this event we will be returning to the theme of the WAP Congress, but with a difference, returning to the classic concept of what is now considered to be "extraordinary" psychosis, but taking it up, once more, within the theme of transference. Join us for what proves to be an enjoyable and illuminating end to the year.

School Laboratory: “Inventions in the Encounter between Norm and Singularity“

This is the third meeting of the School Laboratory, which opens a space for conversation around the various practices and solutions where teachers, psychologists, and speech therapists become partners in the encounter between the child, the parents and the educational system.

In the first part, there will be presented the work of a school counselor, which is charged with expectation and curiosity, proposing another view of the intensive experience at school, and posing questions about urgency.

In the second part, the
participants will discover two testimonies of case work in partnership – how to manage the encounter with a child who is having learning difficulties, while at the same time support his mental and emotional development.

The aim of the case presentations and discussion is to draw attention to these subjective events and the inventions there created, which help the child not to drop out of the social bond and to develop his potential at school. Our professional position is based on the theory and practice of applied psychoanalysis, oriented by the teaching of Jacques Lacan.
