From our colleagues in Houston
It is with deep sadness that we inform the passing of Carmen Navarro-Nino, AP, WAP, NLS, LC and founder of the Houston Freudian Field Library. According to the family, she passed today March 28, 2022, from her home, peacefully and will now rest after her battle against cancer.
Carmen was a tireless warrior, example of her desire to live, which was also fueled by her desire and work for the analytical cause and the dissemination of Jacques Lacan's teachings in the United States. We are sensitive to her departure and we express our deep gratitude for what she has given us in the last 20 years, a sustained work through reading seminars, clinical case studies, Lacanian cartels, individual supervision and analysis.
We send our heartfelt condolences to her husband Luis Fernando-Nino, her daughter Edith and son Hans, her beloved grandchildren and their family members, as well as her friends and colleagues at WAP, NLS, Lacanian Compass, NEL Caracas and FIBOL around the world.
We borrowed the words used by the WAP upon the loss of Judith Miller, who offered Carmen great support to start the HFFL: “There is no orphanhood when there has been transmission”.
We honor her memory.
